PAWS Club 2015-2016

We have some exciting things planned for this year. This year at North Sumner our focus is Winning the Big Game. With the changes in Tennessee education regarding standardized testing we are building excitement and learning strategies through 4 different tailgating events.

The first will take place on Thursday, October 1st from 5:00 - 6:30. We will be serving hotdogs and chips. Parents will have the opportunity to meet with their child's teacher to learn about new strategies being used to prepare students for TNReady, and a few of our teachers will show you how we are using physical activity in our classrooms to motivate students physically as well as academically. We will also have a performance by our school's chorus, The Tiger Tones. Plan on joining us for a night of fun, food and activity.

Our second tailgating event will take place on Thursday, November 12th from 5:00 - 6:30. This will be a night for reading under the stars. The local volunteer fire department and troops will be manning a bonfire where we will be making s'mores and the Tiger Tones will be leading several campfire songs. We will have tents set up where parents and their children can listen to stories from different genres of literature. You won't want to miss these opportunities to increase your child's literary awareness and make some memories!
